Faith to Righteous

And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. (Romans 4:19-22)

You may remember this story. The story of Abraham and Sarah. The fact that they desired a child, but could never conceive. And when they received the promise it seemed too late, Abraham was 100 years of age, Sarah close behind. But the fought through the doubt and remained faithful.

What struggles do you have? Where do you doubt? Do you doubt that you can achieve anything more? That your job is as good as it gets and you aren’t capable of more? Is school something you have to do because Mom and Dad are paying? Your only getting C’s, you are not smart enough to do that one thing you once dreamed of because it requires another two years? People have spoken negative about your abilities, and you have begun to believe them?

When you glorify God in all things, He is faithful to accomplish things in your life you never could

No matter your circumstance we struggle with doubt. But God has promised that when we have faith when we glorify Him in all things, He is faithful to accomplish things in our lives we never could on our own.

And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God. (Romans 4:23-25)

I love this! Paul reminds us of this story to encourage us to step in faith. That even in your troubles, your darkest days don’t doubt the faithfulness of God. Grow in your faith no matter your struggles, and as you do, you bring glory to God.

The struggle may be real,

but God’s faithfulness is absolute

No matter your difficulties whether finances, divorce, parenting, work, school, broken relationships, negativity, you have a reason to praise God. You have a reason to step out in faith finding joy in Him. Why? Romans 4:25.

He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God. (Romans 4:23-25)

You are made right with God. You have hope that you could never achieve. God is for you. So today stop for a moment and praise God for the amazing grace that He has given you. What area in your life do you need to remain faithful even when the struggle is so real.
