A 'gym rat' is someone who spends a lot of time in the... gym. They make working out and going to the gym a habit. Over the last two years, I have begun to make working out a more regular habit. And about a year ago, I started focusing more on my eating. Why? I had goals; I wanted to be healthier and look better (no more fat Scott). But the only way to accomplish those goals was to create habits, habits that would get me to better results.
CREATING HABITS ARE CREATING GOALS FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE COME TO FRUITION
Now habits are interesting because there are different levels of habits. Some created a habit of working out but two times a week while others have the same habit, but the quantity is a lot more. You have habits; maybe it's your routine and schedule, or your eating or activities; either way, we all have habits.
So my question for you is, what do you want to see in your life for the better? Now, maybe you are thinking about your career, family, relationships, emotions, etc... That is expected and good, but what about your spiritual good? Are you happy with where your spiritual maturity? Are you good with your understanding and knowledge of God? If you want to see improvement... Change your habits!
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect." - Romans 12:2
Habits keep you on track. Habits help you remain un-conformed or unswayed by others. Habits help you stay with the things you desire even when you are weak. Habits also are communal. Creating habits with others allows us to have support. But remember, you can also generate and have bad habits.
"Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." - Hebrews 10:25
So, comment and tell me what habits you have in place and what habits you want to add to your life?
