PASSING THE TORCH

We are all passing the torch in some manner or another (or you should be). But here is the thing; too many people transition really badly. We have all seen it in different ways; a boss or employee transitioning to a new role or job and not equipping the team to be adequately prepared. Here is the thing, as disciples (followers of Christ), we are called to train and pass the torch to others around us.

AS DISCIPLES WE MUST EQUIP AND PASS THE TORCH TO OTHERS AROUND US

I probably like you have experienced some bad transitions. I watched with minimal influence as leaders forced one person out, trying to move them on, thinking they were doing something good while immaturely thinking anyone else will be better. Let me tell you, anyone is not better. The grass is not always greener. And they pushed trying to get someone they thought was good, offering him more and more income and benefits just to transition. But with no success, so what does one do? Force someone else through! And because they didn't transition well, the staff turnover is about 98%, and the DNA of a team is completely changed. Sound familiar? Have you experienced or been a part of a bad transition? I tell you, I believe this is more important than we think it is.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

- Hebrews 10:24-25

THE GREATEST PROBLEM IS A LEADER THAT IS NOT LIFTING OTHERS UP

As the church, we should always be looking at including others and lifting them up to mature and grow in their spiritual maturity and leadership capacity. Not a leader? You just lied! We are all leading and influencing someone. The problem is that we are not recognizing it or doing it with those that God has placed around you.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, - Matthew 28:19

So my question for you... How are you looking at your situation and equipping, influencing, and passing the torch with those around you? Comment below, and let's keep the conversation going.
